REMEMBER, REMEMBER

OSOMG LIST OF THOSE WHO HAVE GONE BEFORE US

JOHN BOND

It is with great sadness that I inform you of the passing of our long time volunteer, John Bond. John served in WWII in the Army Air Corps. He has volunteered with the museum from the beginning, where he played a significant role in cataloging and organizing Lowry’s archives. John also preserved and promoted Lowry history through the publication of two books, Colorado Aviation History: Lowry Air Force Base and Legends of Flight: Lowry Heritage. Most recently, John was inducted into the Colorado Aviation Hall of Fame on October 12, 2019.

A Memorial Service for John Bond will be held at Wings Over the Rockies on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on the main hangar floor.  The doors will open at 8:45 am. Light refreshments will be served. If you plan on attending the Memorial Service, please RSVP directly to Kathy Brownfield, kbrownfield@wingsmuseum.org, no later than 2:00 pm this Friday, November 22, 2019, so we may get an accurate headcount to the caterers.

Additionally, a funeral will be held the next day at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs – Wednesday, November 27, 2019. The family has said it is open

John was born on November 3, 1921 and passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2019. The family asks in lieu of flowers that donations be sent to Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space Museum.
